Wolves trade Miller and Foye to Washington

The Washington Wizards are close to a deal that would send the No. 5 pick in Thursday's draft, Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Randy Foye and Mike Miller, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher on Tuesday.

Now the Wolves have the 5th, 6th, 18th and 28th picks in the draft along with 2 2nd round picks could be a wild draft day for the Wolves

That'd be nice if it was a good draft. Seeing as how it's a weak draft, it's not going to help much.

Don't confuse hope for a plan.

Re: Wolves trade Miller and Foye to Washington

Im thinking they will take either Rubio or Evans at 5 and then either Hill or DeRozan at 6. If they keep all 4 they will have to go the Euorpean route with a couple or they won't have space on the roster. I really wouldn't be surprised to see another deal where they move one of them for a 2010 or 2011 first rd pick

If they live up to their draft history, they will take Pooh Richardson, Gary Leonard, and Rubio, then trade Rubio for Donyell Marshall

Wow. If the wolves don't make dumb *** picks, they'll be a good team in a couple years.

I think they'll probably hit on #5 or 6(Only Isaiah Thomas would be incompetent to mess up both)...they go Euro at 18 then with 28th take the guy who inexplicably drops each year...then they'll be fine...

I agree with the poster above... considering this is being pegged the worst draft class in history, this doesn't seem to be a very good move.

My guess is they take Rubio if there at 5 or they take Evans at 5 then at 6 they take DeRozan then at 18 they take either Holiday if still there or go euorean at 18 with a European most likely Cassip

Re: Wolves trade Miller and Foye to Washington

A source close to Minnesota told ESPN.com's Andy Katz that the Timberwolves aren't done. The Wolves now own Nos. 5, 6, 18 and 28 in the first round. A source said that the Timberwolves won't package Nos. 5 and 6 for No. 2, but they could offer the fifth and 18th picks for the second. The key for Minnesota, according to the source, is that it wants to have two lottery selections, whether that's Nos. 2 and 6 or 5 and 6. The source said Minnesota is expecting to have a "very busy Wednesday."
The Timberwolves reportedly covet Memphis guard Tyreke Evans but hope he will still be around at No. 5. Memphis at No. 2 or Sacramento at No. 4 have also been mentioned as possible suitors for Evans. The Timberwolves are also interested in Syracuse's Jonny Flynn and Davidson's Stephen Curry. Minnesota would also consider Hasheem Thabeet of Connecticut if he is still on the board when the Wolves select.
There is a strong possibility that Oklahoma City will select Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio at No. 3, according to sources. If Sacramento then took Evans at No. 4, the Wolves could get Arizona State guard James Harden.

They'll also draft Brackins, only to find out that he's still in college.

    Maybe Anthony Peeler as well.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

The Suns have made some bank the last few years doing exactly that. What were they going to trade that pick for? They obviously don't want to take on any more salary.

Re: Wolves trade Miller and Foye to Washington

Apparently the deal for 28 is on hold at the moment. I understood the trade as basically 28 for 3 million in cash which I think would be stupid of the Wolves as they should trade it for a future first or they should draft a European player with that pick and then they can keep him off the books for a year or 2
