That's a mess. $845,000 in completely undocumented expenditures seems just a little high :(

Ahhhh.... Ther is nothing like holding people accountable for their actions. Here is quote from KSU president:
“There is nothing we can do about the past,” Schulz said in a news release. “However, steps have been taken to ensure these situations do not happen again.”

Spoken like a man who does not want an investigation to take place.

I can't imagine that he does.

You'd think that the NCAA would want to know where that money went to also. It wouldn't be that far of a stretch to speculate that secret undocumented payments to a coach may have gone to recruits or current players. Of course Snyder has always been squeaky clean so that couldn't have happened.

Kansas boards have a really long and detailed thread on this. Honestly I think Snyder is okay in this, but Wefald and Krause could get nailed to the wall.

Re: Audit uncovers questionable payments to KState Coaches' Corporations

The whole situation has just been odd. I mean, usually when someone smart looks at a situation like this, they can kind of read between the lines and figure out what was going on.

Here, no one has a f-ing clue what happened and/or why it happened.

I often feel blessed, as a KU fan, that our two main rivals are typically among the most incompetent athletic departments in the country.

Re: Audit uncovers questionable payments to KState Coaches' Corporations

President (emeritus) Wefald stated publicly that he was wrong in giving too much freedom/control to Krause. It's hindsight, yes, but I honestly cannot believe Wefald was willingly and knowingly permitting it to happen. He has responsibility for the lack of oversight, yes. However, I think the real culprit is Krause, and his running business out of control.
