    St. Louis

Some buddies and I are heading down to St. Louis next weekend and I am curious to see what other Cyclone Fanatics have done while in the St. Louis area for entertainment (besides going to a St. Louis Cardinals game, which we already have planned) food, and places to see. I'm curious to know what malls are good, what restaurants are the best, and which places are the most fun to visit. I have been to St. Louis in the past with family but I don't plan on duplicating previous family vacations on this trip.

Six Flags is fun. And if you go to St. Louis you have to go see the arch.

Grant Farm was a cool place. It's kind of a zoo with Budwieser taps at the end. Not sure if it's still open since Budweiser sold out.

Oops, I forgot that copied links from searches often don't work.

You can either look in the OT forum from yesterday, or search for St. Louis, and you'll find it.

    Re: St. Louis

I had a big long thing typed out but my battery decided to quit on me and I lost it, so here's the important things.

Tom's Bar in the Central West End--nothin quite like a hole-in-the-wall bar
    Ted Drewes Frozen Custard
Union Station (but touristy, you've probably done it)
"Cardinals" Restaurants--Pujols 5 (Westport Plaza), Ozzie's (Westport Plaza), J Bucks (Clayton or 2 blocks west of stadium), Shannon's (2 blocks north of stadium)
    The Hill
Soulard Farmer's Market--even if you're not buying anything, cool to check out one of the few remaining true, open air fresh markets.

"The Outfield" (outdoor patio) @ Shannon's, or the two party areas south of the stadium are awesome pre- and post-game party areas if you want to get loaded, or watch people who are smashed. Hrabosky's (owned by the Mad Hungarian himself) is one or two giant metal sheds, and there's a giant circus tent called Paddy O's--these are the two just south of the stadium. Beer, mixed drinks, usually a live band or two. Good times. I'm a girl so I can't personally verify, but my brother claims that the urinals at Hrabosky's have a one-way mirror above them so you can check out everyone in the bar area but they can't see you taking a leak.

And as always, visit the areas north of downtown and east of the river for some of the finest hospitality in the St Louis area

    Re: St. Louis

Too many good bars to list, but area's to go for bars/restaurants:
McGurk's, Johnny's (like Hooters, but better), and Tucker's in Soulard
Lafayette Park area has some good ones
    The Hill for Italian
    South Grand for ethnic
    Black Thorn near Forest Park
The Loop in U City is like a mini college town (near Wash U)
Central West end if you are a high-roller.
The Landing by the river in downtown if you like clubs.
    Washington Ave in downtown.
As 2011 mentioned Union Station if you are a 16 year-old girl or fanny-pack wearing tourist.
    Ted Drew's on Chippewa/Watson
East St. Louis if strip clubs are your thing, I cannot speak of the quality.
North St. Louis if you want a real urban experience.

    Re: St. Louis

I know me and a few of my friends are hitting up the cardinals-twins game next weekend. Supposedly Busch is a great field, which will probably be amplified considering I was raised on HHH Metrodome baseball...

    Re: St. Louis

Busch is a great place to watch a ballgame. I've sat in the upperdeck, outfield bleachers, Redbird Club (right by the pressbox), and in the lower levels on the baselines--checked out almost all the views. IMO, not a bad seat in the house.
