    Best Cyclone football memory

In 2000 when my dad and I rushed the field after a 38-17 victory over Kansas (our 8th win!) my dad slapped Ennis Haywood on the back and said "Great Game Ennis!"

Ennis was talking to someone else but said, "Thank you sir!"

Haha.. it was really cool for a 10 year old kid

Its probably not my favorite cyclone memory but probably my first

    Re: Best Cyclone football memory

My best memory was in 1971. Before cable TV and games on every channel, no one outside of Iowa knew about ISU.

It changed that holiday season when ISU was on CBS-TV for the Sun Bowl. A football game on the TV as my best memory? Yeah it was, because before the game even started the captains for both teams walked out on the field and the announcer said all their names and where they were from - one of those captains was my brother.

It was a pretty awesome feeling for me. I was 13 and the talk of my school for a long time.

    Re: Best Cyclone football memory

When Lamarcus Hicks took that pick to the house during the 2005 Iowa game, the student section went so crazy that people started falling over into the row in front of them, and the whole student section, like a stack of dominoes fell into the next row. Absolutely awesome.

Mine as well. Being the first one on the goalpost that day, makes it a great memory...

Being in Kinnick and seeing tears in my older son's eyes after the "streak breaker." Years of belittlement from his "friends" because he was a Cyclone fan, washed away in 3 hours of kick'em-in-the-teeth football.

Being one of the first people out on the field after breaking the Iowa streak.

Watching Drew Tate get knocked the **** out.

    Senecas run.

2nd half comeback against FSU in KC.

    Big plays run against CU.

Yeah, that is probably one of mine. We went absolutely nuts after he housed that. We used to do crowd pushups and the guy that we threw up after that basically morphed into a crowd surf. He ended up a section over and like 7-8 rows down.

2005 when Coach Mac told Brent Blum that any coaches or players caught celebrating can sit their *** in the locker room. That whole game was just awesome. Total ownage.

    Re: Best Cyclone football memory

1992 vs NU. Too little to understand it was an upset, but I remember my Dad, who usually does not show emotion over sports, busting the dashboard of the truck in excitement, and later taking me on the field.
As an older fan, the comeback against KSU. I lived in Missouri at the time, and went over to the game. I wanted to leave in the fourth with about 10 minutes left. You know the rest...

That was just an all around awesome day. Staring at the ground with my eyes shut and hearing the roar of the crowd when Culby hit the game winner against Iowa in 2007 would be high on my list as well. I couldn't watch. I was so scared that we gave them enough time for a kick-off, too.

The entire 2005 Iowa game. And the Colorado game with the tornado before.

They almost returned that kick all the way back.
