    Re: Washington's recruiting class????

New coach has a lot of USC recruiting ties. Did alot of the recruiting for Pete Carroll at Souther Cal. Probably uses the line, "you can go to USC and sit for three years and hope they don't bring in the number one recruit at your position, or come play for me, start for three years and then we take a look at your draft status"

and it helps that three of the kids from the ESPN top 150 were all at the same high school.

They've got a great alumni base and good fan support. Located in a metropolitan area. Cool stadium where you can sail your boat to get to the game and tailgate in it as well.

...Oh yeah, and Steve Sarkisian is one helluva coach and recruiter. He was very instrumental in bringing in some of USC's better recruits. I wouldn't say USC has sleeping giant potential, but they could be a major player in the next 5-10 years.

Maybe too young to remember but UW had one of the best fball programs in the country in late 80s to early/mid 90s. Arguably one of the best teams ever in 90 or 91. Looks like they may be on the track back, which is good for the Pac-10.

They claimed that team could have beat a lot of NFL ones.

I'm not sure that USC is a sleeping giant, but we all get what you meant.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

    This.
When Lane Kiffin was hired by the Raiders, there were whispers from USC that he wasn't that well-liked by the staff and got way too much credit.
Sarkisian is a different matter - lots of USC folks say he will be a great head coach.

    Re: Washington's recruiting class????

Would have liked to seen one of their lineman, Cody Habben, commit to the clones a couple of years ago. His dad is from NW Iowa, graduated HS from a small town, went to college and moved out to Seattle. His grandparents still live in Iowa. About the only thing Neuheisel (sp?) did right out there was put the "W" back on their helmets that the previous coach changed.
