Re: Brackens not named to the

Those obviously aren't the top 20 players in the country. Not so much because Brackins isn't on the list, but Kevin Love (UCLA recruit). He's a special, special recruit. Better than MJ's boy

Did we every get the "official" ruling on prep school players being eligible for this? I know it's been discussed several times. Brackin's is technically not a HS player.

Yeah I have heard many say how that Love kid is the best player in this class and could play in the NBA today. I think there is more politics involved with this game than the McDonald's All American game

Re: Brackens not named to the

Yeah if Love is not on the list it's not a good list. However I understand putting Jordan on the list. It has his name on it. Brackens is anywhere from top 15 to top 40 so I understand him not being on the list.

Prep school kids must be eligible because Beasley is a prep school kid, but I think he is a fourth and not a fifth year player.

Re: Brackens not named to the

I wonder how Jeff Jordan got on that team, whaaaaa? did daddy have something to do with that, haha! considering he is a mid-major recruit, not counting out the possibility of him being a great player, since his dad was a bit of a late bloomer, but not all american high school caliber!

Re: Brackens not named to the

Michael Jordan was NOT a late bloomer. By his junior and senior seasons in High School, Michael Jordan was one of the top recruits in the country. He STARTED for North Carolina his FRESHMAN year in college. AND he made the WINNING SHOT for the NCAA championship his Freshman year. Michael Jordan was not the best player in EIGHTH GRADE and Freshman in High School, but that is a fairly common thing with young players. But he was a STUD by the time he was a senior in High School. The Players you are mentioning are Seniors in High School. An example of a "late Bloomer" would be Scottie Pippen. This guy wasn't even a blip on anyone's radar coming out of high school. Went to some obscure college where he grew a bunch and refined his game. You know the rest of the story.

as far as late bloomers go, I was always impressed how Kevin Gamble came on late in his college carreer. I don't have the foggiest how highly recruited he was out of HS, but I do remember him not doing much of anything till his senior year at EIU.

Re: Brackens not named to the

Beasley is a 5th year player too, which is why he's at Notre Dame Prep and not Oak Hill Academy.

Re: Brackens not named to the

    Here is an interesting stat:

Since the inception of the McDonald's All-American team, only twice has a US collegiate team won a national championship without having a former McDonald's All-American on its roster (Kentucky in 1978 and Maryland in 2002).

BFD-they probably picked the team last summer.

I'm licking my chops waiting to see him dress out for the Cardinal and Gold next winter, you can be sure of that
