I sure hope this staff performs as well on Saturdays as they do in front of a microphone.

Great stuff from Bleil here. He's awfully optimistic about the OL... I hope he's right.

Gonna have to see it before I believe anything the staff says. We've been here before.

    Proof is in the pudding.

Agreed. I remeber how psyched everybody was when Chizik came in.... No different here... But I'm optimistic the results will be different-in a good way

Wow, he said that during the initial stages of recruiting each coach has a list of 800 - 900 kids in their region that they have to narrow down to about 40.

I didn't realize that he had been a head coach before.

The difference is we've recently had a new coach. We know what he did wrong, and we see CPR is not making the same mistakes.

Just blanket recruiting Iowa schools is a big plus. Not all athletes live in Texas. Seems like this is a major upgrade for our program.

Good post, CYCLONE1. I think I posted this somewhere once before, but I was one of the many who were excited about the Chizik hire. I had to scratch my head, however, over some of his hires. I was luke warm to Rhoads being hired, but have I have warmed up tremendously to him based on the steps he has taken so far.

The proof, like a couple of other people have posted, will be what happens come Aug. 27 and every Saturday there after through November.

Yes, but that doesn't mean he won't make different ones. After all, Chizik didn't make most of the same mistakes Mac did...like, A. Marty Fine, B. putting quality OL recruiting on the back burner, and C. Chizik signed two placekickers, so he'd have a spare if one got hurt--the way that all of Mac's last few recruited kickers (Mahoney, Griebahn and Yelk) did.

    Just playing Devil's Advocate...

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)
