Ryno would be my top choice.

Re: When Sweet Lou leaves, who do you want to manage the Cubs?

I think Bob Brenly is quietly the manager in waiting. Who will know the Cubs inside and out better than him. I like Ryno and Girardi, but I would hate to see other get canned, and tarnish their legacy. Moreso Ryno than Girardi. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Alan Trammell take over. My guesses would be:

    1.) Brenly
    2.) Trammell
    3.) Ryno

Whoever is the best fit, and I don't think any of those are.

It's a tossup between Brenley and Girardi.

Like to see Ryno and Maddux both cut their teeth more in the minors or on the bench. Love to see Maddux work his way up the system as a bullpen and pitching coach. Wonder if there's any chance of Ryno making a season stop in DSM as a AAA manager?

I agree with everything except for Trammell, he doesn't exactly have the best managing track record. I'd LOVE to see Brenly take over with Ryno as the hitting coach and Maddux as the pitching coach.

Re: When Sweet Lou leaves, who do you want to manage the Cubs?

I think Bob would be a great choice, and would be happy with that choice. My other choice would never happen, but have always been impressed by his observations and that is Steve Stone. That guy has great insight into thinking ahead as to what to do. Awesome pitching mind!

Steve Stone should be the Cubs GM.

Re: When Sweet Lou leaves, who do you want to manage the Cubs?

Originally I wanted Girardi over Pinella, but now I'm glad the Cubs didn't get him.

Brenly has won in this century, none of these other choices have.

    Bob Euker. Perfect fit.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Re: When Sweet Lou leaves, who do you want to manage the Cubs?

Crash Davis would be an ideal choice. Lou from Major League wouldn't be bad either.

Seeing as how neither of those guys are real, I like Freddy Gonzalez from Florida. Unlike a lot of Cubs fans, I think it might be wise to hire from outside of the Cubs family.
