Advice for a Potential Student (again)

This is my first post under this username, but I'm a longtime member who just didn't want to post this under my regular name. There are certain people who might see it who I don't want to know I'm considering this.

I'm contemplating going back to school for some kind of computer science or IT training (most likely at ISU), but I have a lot of questions about it. I don't know whether I should get a bachelor's or master's. (I already have a bachelor's degree, but it's in an unrelated field.) I'm not sure whether I would do part-time or full-time--I don't know if I can really afford to quit my job and go to school full-time, particularly in this economy.

So I guess I'm wanting to hear from you Computer Science and Information Systems grads, both bachelor's and master's. Are you glad you have your degree? Where do you work? Do you like your job? How much could a person fresh out of college (either with a bachelor's or master's) expect to make? Did any of you go to school part-time? If so, how long did it take you to finish?

I'm very early in this process. If I were to apply at all it would be for next spring at the earliest. Right now I'm just trying to decide whether I could make it work. Any advice would be welcome.

    Go Cyclones!

This is going to be bad advice, but I did not learn a single thing in college that I use on a daily basis. Not one thing in the computer science dept has helped my career except that little slip of paper that says BS in CS.

If you already have a bachelors, go get some specialized training instead.

This question might mean I'm not ready for something like this, but what kind of specialized training is out there?

Go for something that interests the hell out of you. If you enjoy what you are doing, you will likely succeed.

    Comprehension yes.

The original post states that the poster may "go back to school." As if to say they have already been to school, and I'm assuming older than 18.

I'm 29 and, as I said in the first post, already have a bachelor's. My days of getting wasted and doing things with fat chicks are well behind me.

Well, I thought that's what I was doing when I started my current career. Turns out not so much. It stresses me out, the hours are less than desirable, and the pay isn't great. I know I should consider myself lucky just to have a job right now (and I do), but I'm just looking ahead I guess. Computers were always a second love of mine, since high school, so I thought I might give that a shot.

Now, we can't assume. Maybe that 11-year old graduate in L.A. is a poster on Cyclone Fanatic.

Stranger things have happened. Just look at all the Baylor talk on CF.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
