    Pryor vs Griffin

    Q. Who had the better freshman season?

I'll admit, I didn't catch alot of their games but what I did see was Griffin being more of a leader and feeling more comfortable on the field.

    Q. Who will be better as a junior and senior (if they stay)?

Again, from the little I saw of them, Griffin was very accurate as a passer and just as good of a runner, if not better, than Pryor. I didn't see a whole lot of difference in them this year but I give the edge to Griffin.

Baylor is going to be tough to beat this year. I think Griffin, Finnely and Wright are going to be too much for us again this year.

I, for one, was not overly impressed by Griffin.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

I think Pryor is going to be in a class above the likes of Griffin and will lead his team to some pretty good seasons, which is hard for me to say because I hate every thing about them.

Griffin had a better year than Pryor. Both were really solid true freshman though.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

Pryor is going to get all the hype. People simply are not going to hear much about Griffin. Plus, when you play in a conference with UT, OU, OSU, Tech and A&M, you chances of looking good on the big stage of BCS game/NC contention are pretty much zero.

So, doesn't matter who actually is the better QB. With the easier Big 10 conference and loaded OSU team talent, Pryor will be passed off in the media as a superstar if they win the conference.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

Pryor looks a bit like V. Young the way he moves around casually and seems to pick up yardage with his feet at will.

Can't say the same for Griffin. He was a good find for Baylor and will service them well, but he shouldn't even be all conference in the B12 IMO. He is an avg. QB at best.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

To me, you can put a really good player (who may seem unstoppable) on a bad team and the bad team will still lose. But if you put great player on a bad team, the team finds a way to win. You see this more with basketball, but it also happens in football. Griffin is a really good player, but he is not a great player.

Pryor was good last year, I fear he could be ridiculously good/nigh-unstoppable this year.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

Griffin had the better season. Very few to no one knew of him outside of Waco and he was able to put himself on the national stage. Pryor, while still successfull, was already on the stage. Pryor will be the better jr/sr. His second string is probably as good as the rest of Baylor's starters. You can only work with what is around you, and Pryor has more around him.

+1 on the schedule differences too.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

Griffin kind of did more with less. Do I think that will happen as they progress through their careers? No. But I do think Griffin is the better athlete and would be something else if he had the benefits that Pryor has at OSU.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

It is an interesting argument because while Pryor has better talent around him, Griffin will probably go against weaker defenses. Also Pryor will probably be ahead in most games and with the typic OSU defense will not have to put as many points us as Griffin will. Griffin will be playing from behind more often than Pryor most likely and will need to score more points than Pryor but will also be playing against weaker defenses.

    Re: Pryor vs Griffin

    They both played against Texas:

    Griffin stats: Passing 6-19-1 int & 1 td; rushing 13-101 1td

    Pryor stats: Passing 5-14-0 int & 0 td; rushing 15-78 0 td; 1 td reception 5 yds

The Baylor game was a blowout and the OSU game was very close so it's difficult to compare the two for that reason. You could say Texas' defense was playing safe against Baylor so not to give up the big play whereas against OSU they were selling out to try and stop Pryor and Wells from running the ball down their throats.

I give the nod to Griffin for having a better statistical season last year, but I give the potential nod to Pryor. 6'6" and lightning fast with a rocket arm. If he can improve his accuracy on the long ball, he will be nearly impossible to defend.
