    Reccomendations for golf clubs?

I've only played once in my life but I'm looking into giving it a try. My wife is as well. I'm looking to stay under $300 per set. Any recommendations? All the terminology(graphite, hybrid, etc) is confusing the hell out of me.

Specific links to actual sets would be helpful.

Make sure you get the most forgiving, oversized clubs you can afford. It'd be awfully cruel if you ended up buying blades and didnt realize it.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Oh and TAKE LESSONS, it's worth it to learn the correct way.

Check out the Callaway x-18r set. Cavity backs, very very forgiving. I play with the x-22's but the 18's are great clubs and relatively inexpensive (~ $400).

Anyone have a good driver recommendation? I broke my Big Bertha titanium.

    Top Flite Set

This set includes woods, irons, and a bag. Not bad for your first set. Let's be honest, you don't need anything better until you truly learn to hit the ball correctly. Invest more in lessons and practice before getting nice clubs.

I have a Callaway FT-3, the FT-9's are pretty good too. I would go to Golf Galaxy and they can do a swing test to match the driver to your swing.

    Re: Reccomendations for gulf clubs?

Imo, get a semi-cheap or used set to start with (re-grip if used). Play for a year or maybe two. Then you'll have a whole level of appreciation down the road switching to a more expensive nice set of clubs and you'll actually be able to have some experience to base an opinion on when it comes to feel. Spend the real money when you actually feel comfortable knowing exactly what you want.

    Re: Reccomendations for gulf clubs?

Just starting, I would recommend going to garage sales and buying a good set of used clubs. $300 will not buy you much new in this market. Do not waste your money on a good set of new clubs until you know your mind can take the bad beating the game of golf will give you!!!

Since you have only played once I would not want your golf clubs to become like my exercise bike and treadmill, that collect dust in the basement.

I bought my wife walmart specials. One, because she sucks at golf and two, I refuse to pay more than $150 per set for anyone who plays golf once or twice a year.
