LeBron needs to grow up !

In my opinion he is the most athletically talented player on the planet when it comes to the game of Basketball. His actions however after the game 6 loss to Orlando, tells me he needs to grow up and become a Adult. It's a game it is not life or death, it's not the end of the world, your team got beat, step up congratulate the winners and show some maturity and class....

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baske...s-future_N.htm

The series-ending loss Saturday was unbearable for James, who left the court without congratulating the Magic. He dressed quickly, put on his headphones and bolted from the locker room to the team bus without addressing the media. Later, he sent an email to Howard.
"It's hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them," he told reporters Sunday back in Ohio.
"I'm a winner. It's not being a poor sport or anything like that. If somebody beats you up, you're not going to congratulate them. That doesn't make sense to me. I'm a competitor."

coach - have you seen his interview he did today with the NYY hat on? he seemed pretty bitter and a poor loser to me. that bit about not shaking hands after a loss was childish.

Apparently both LeBron and Mo Williams stormed off court after the loss with no respect to the Orland Magic Team and Coaches. There are a lot of young kids that look up to these guys, these actions are disturbing and sad.

*Yawn*. It's the NBA. It's chock full of self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing, selfish players.

TO or OchoCinco would fit in just perfectly there.
    Why does this surprise anyone?

LeBron doesn't need to grow up, he needs a supporting cast.

So his lack of sportmanship displayed is ok with you....? he hits a game winner he is signing autographs after the game, he loses he can just walk off and pout.

This season has shown him that he can't win it all there. Cleveland fans better enjoy next season because after next year he is so gone.

Maybe, just maybe, he is wiser than you think and knows that this year was one of his best shots of winning a championship. Kevin Garnett waited forever to win one with the Celtics...just b/c Lebron is super gifted doesnt mean he will automatically win a title. Lots of HOF'ers sniffed the title but couldnt capture it.

How can one expect LeBron to be a man when he's not 40?

Actually, that's not quite correct. KG waited forever to win an NBA title when he was with the T-Wolves - he won the NBA title with the Celtics. Much like LeBron is in Cleveland, KG was a one-trick show in Minnesota, and you just can't win the NBA title as a one trick show. Even MJ couldn't get past the Detroit Pistons until the Bulls front office surrounded him with some more talent. As I heard on FSR last night, Cleveland had better seriously consider upgrading that team this off season, otherwise LeBron will have no incentive to stay - and right now LeBron is the difference between the league's best record and a lottery team.

As for LeBron - you had better grow up and over the next season, especially if free angency is in your future. The citizens of Cleveland may be willing to overlook this gross spat of immaturity, but if your goal is to play in a large market like New York or LA, those large media outlets will eat you alive if you decide to pull a bush league stunt like that...

Re: LeBron needs to grow up !

Watching Howard wildly swing his elbows at the Cavs frontcourt, then taunt them and get T'd up seems a lot more classless to me.

While Lebron might go to NY, I don't think he's got a better shot a championship than he does with the Cavs. They had the best record and had the Magic missed a couple of those clutch 3's they'd be playing the Lakers. The Knicks are a laughing stock and the Nets aren't much better. If he goes to either one he'd be taking a step back for at least a couple years.

Re: LeBron needs to grow up !

Personally, I have been very pleasantly surprised at how mature LeBron is and how gracefully he has handled himself since I have known of his existance.

He has been in the spotlight and chosen as "the annointed one" for basketball since he was in the 7th or 8th grade (since he was an early teenager)...pretty heady stuff for someone so young.

And, to date, his two most scandalous actions were wearing a Yankees cap to an Indians game and not hanging around after game 6 of his most recent playoff series?!?

Sorry, I don't think either of these two "errors in judgment" are major sins. In fact, why would an opponent stay on the court of the other team as they celebrate their win with their fans and as the plethora of reporters run to stick microphones in front of anyone that will talk? I wouldn't...plenty of time to congratulate your opponent later and let them savor their championship on their home court.

You should save your self-righteous indignation for those doing steroids, doing illegal narcotics, fathering multiple children with multiple wives, beating women, getting involved in shootings, engaging in illegal dogfighting, raping women, etc.

LeBron has my respect until he does something seriously wrong.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
