    NBA Announcers

Who do you like as an NBA announcer? For color, my current two favorites are Doug Collins and Hubie. I am not into Jeff van Gundy at all. I don't miss Bill Walton either.

I liked the TNT combo that did the bulls/celtics games which was Kevin Harlan and Doug Collins. Albert and Collins is good as well but I wish they would add Reggie and have a three man team ala ESPN's. It seems to me though that the ESPN crew is so biased toward the Lakers. Lakers are always getting screwed by the refs, but Denver never does. Give me a break.

Van Gundy gets annoying reallll quick IMO

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.

    Speaking strictly current color guys...

    Hubie Brown is the master.

I really like Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson together. It's a NY-NY combo that works well together for me.

Doug Collins is very good - a good teacher of the game.

    Reggie Miller is OK.

Bill Walton is sometimes entertaining, but I would choose someone else.

Charles Barkley is nowhere near the top of my list.

I didn't discuss Barkley, as he isn't really a color guy but rather only a studio announcer. He is only there to drop bombs and be controversial. Was his speech more slurred last night?

Not sure. But the single button on his jacket holding his belly back from spilling on to the floor was working overtime.

    Re: NBA Announcers

Jeff Van Gundy is SOOOO annoying. He imparts way too much of his opinions throughout the game, and it gets old. He was talking about how much he hates the 7 technical = 1 game suspension in the playoffs. How it just seems like they came up with a random number.

Uh...6 fouls = disqualification seems random. 3 seconds in the lane = turnover seems random. All rules are random. Deal with it. 7 technicals in a maximum of 28 games seems more than fair, and maybe even too lenient...

    OK, then... define "technical foul".

With the T's being so subjective (based on opinion/ego of the referee), and now having some added/removed after seeing a replay (?!), it's totally ridiculous. If you don't want to watch great athletes play physical basketball, go watch soccer.

Jeff Van Gundy - may be against the general publics opinion, but I enjoy listening to him. Overall, I have really enjoyed listening to both TNT & ESPN NBA playoff announcers this postseason, from start to end, I think they have been great.

I heard Reggie Miller last night for the first time, I really liked him. Not too much extra fluff and he knows what he's talking about.

Reggie Miller is by far my least favorite announcer. At least the basketball guys are better than we get on other networks for football and baseball. Collins and Harlan were excellent during the Bulls series.
