    Drive in theater

I think it sounds like a great idea to do this weekend or one of these summer nights. Anyone been to one in Iowa, the one I'm looking at now is in Newton:

Yep, been to the one just south of Maquoketa several times. They show double features there. It's a lot of fun.

Can you bring beer? Also did you stay in the car or did you bring a lawn chair?

Doesn't say you can't in the list of can'ts, so I'd say it's probably okay.

Most people bring lawn chairs or blankets. Some of my friends even brought a couch for a bachelorette party once.

    Re: Drive in theater

Only rule in Newton is no grills, bonfires or weapons. I have brought many a beer in there to catch a double feature. Kids under 15 are free and adults are only like $8 each I think. It is a good option for the family.

No weapons? Frickin prudes. Nothing I enjoy more than watching a movie, drinking beer, and squeezing off a few rounds from an assault rifle.

That and the use of the word "frickin" followed by "prudes"

drive-in in newton is really fun! arrive early cause there is a line before the gates open!! if you have kids you can park in front row and have a large grass area to play games. bring a lot of beer, food, etc because the concession stand is pricey! very fun and cheap

Very cool, thanks for the heads up!

Man, it would be fun to have one of these between Ames/Des Moines. I would think it would do some good business.
