    ESPN to cut 100 jobs

ESPN Cuts About 100 Jobs, Expects To Create Others
ESPN has notified about 100 Connecticut employees that they will be losing their jobs
The layoffs are part of a plan announced by ESPN Chief Executive George Bodenheimer in January, when he told employees the sports television giant would be reviewing its entire operation and also would leave about 200 vacant jobs unfilled.

Company spokesman Josh Krulewitz says ESPN plans to replace the jobs that have been cut with others that "more effectively grow our company, and our head count number, ultimately, will remain consistent with current levels."

ESPN, a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Co., employs about 5,400 people worldwide, including about 3,400 at its Bristol, Conn. campus.

They are just cutting CT jobs and moving more to LA... Makes sense and might help get rid of the East Coast bias...

    This.

But instead of getting rid of the East Coast bias, they'll just be trading their love for all things ACC for love for all things Pac 10 (especially USC and UCLA), their love for the Lakers will intensify (if that's even possible), not to mention that during the football season you won't go one SportsCenter or NFL Live broadcast without hearing about how LA just HAS to have an NFL team. But the bias for the Yankees and Red Sox won't die - they'll just add the Angels, Dodgers and Giants to their list of love (but the Padres and A's can go **** themselves - they're not "big time" enough to be worthy of love)...

Mike & Mike could go as far as I'm concerned. To many over there to list, actually.

Yeah, I'm sure the fact that they are 2 of the top 3 most popular teams has nothing to do with the "bias".

yeah, the 27th and 23rd most popular teams should be getting more coverage
