Im going out on a limb that USC, Kentucky, TCU is out of mix for Barnes

if Harrison Barnes goes to TCU and play basketball that will be the day I win Powerball

Harrison Barnes is going out to California and sounds like he is only visiting UCLA then Stanford and no mention of USC

I say Kentucky will be out of the mix now as well due to Calipari scandal while at Memphis

Harrison Barnes top 9 is Duke, Kansas, Iowa State, North Carolina, UCLA, Florida, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Stanford

USC, TCU, KENTUCKY are out of the mix in all likelyhood....

Well there's reasons there still on the list but your probably right. Hell if I had to pick anybody for him to go to besides Iowa State I'd pick TCU.

TCU has an outstanding business school (Neely School of Business), but they haven't been competitive in basketball since Billy Tubbs was there. Other than the assistant coach connection, I can't figure out why TCU is on the list. Why go to a school where basketball is and always will be second fiddle? They also don't fit the criteria of a school that was a chance at winning a championship.

FWIW, I was told by a pretty solid source that HB eliminated USC some time ago and that Floyd recommended ISU.

That would be great if true. Says something that Tim Floyd would recommend ISU to a kid. You would hope there is a desire to do something good for the team you grew up cheering for anyway...but when a former coach tells you that it would be a good choice as well...it tells you that he evidently thinks ISU is special place as well.

I understand that HB is a very smart young man, and sounds like his mother has done a great job of raising him. I would hope he also realizes that ISU will always be home...why not make it that more special by playing here?

From what I hear, HB is no longer in contact with ISU coaches. FWIW...

With all do respect, you're wrong, and I say that with 100% certainty. He's in contact with our coaching staff as well as our players.

Wow, another HB speculation thread, speculating on a decision that likely won't be made for another 9-10 months.

This may be a cynical view, but did Tim Floyd recommended that Barnes go to ISU because Floyd figures he is more likely to run into Kansas, Duke, UNC, etc. in the tourney, and he would rather face those teams without Barnes? In other words, did he recommend ISU because if he can't have Barnes, he doesn't want another traditionally competitive team to have him?

Wow another useless post complaining about a thread yet adding on to it. I do see your point however, can we get one of the mods to create a no speculation rule. All speculators will be banned.

I doubt Tim makes the tourney in the next couple years....so I doubt it

Ok. Glad to hear it. I did hear that he still plays with the current team, but that as of mid-season last year, he was no longer returning our coaches' calls. Again, FWIW, and maybe that's not much...

So which sore loser squawk fan told you that? Why would he keep ISU on his list as of late if he stopped talking to the coaches months ago? Come on man...
