    401k bounce

Just curious on how peoples 401ks are doing since the first of the year. I really don't want this to be political ... just curious how they are performing.

I am surprised myself... 7.8% gain. I almost didn't want to look, but figured I should and was curious enough.

    DOWS: 8776 on 12/31/08 and through yesterday 8292 (-6%)
    NASDAQ: 1577 on 12/31/08 and through yesterday 1695 (7%)
    S&P: 903 on 12/31/08 and through yesterday 888 (-2%)

    Bear market bounce.................??

After the doomsday pricing scenarios we experienced last year values were bound to bounce back up a little though, when we realized the sky was in fact not going to fall. (although we're still not completely sure, crossing fingers!)

Imo, pricing has bounced too far too quickly though. We'll see.

    Re: 401k bounce

I've had about a 5% gain since the first of the year.

    Portfolio Break Down:

Equities: Emerging Markets have done really well, my Small/Mid US Equity has done well, and Large US Equity has been flat

Fixed Income: All has been relativley flat. US real estate has done poorly (no surprise there), but it's only 2% of my portfolio...

My commercial real estate account is up for the year, I was happy that I could get out of it, because I moved everything out of that account.
