    Jack Trice's Gravesite?

Ok..this one has me stumped and I'm sure someone has the answer...

    Where was Jack Trice buried?

All I can find is information that states there was a funeral service on campus and 4000 students attended and they students/college and community gave a sizeable memorial fund to his parents and widow...

Not a huge deal of course..but it's going to keep me up nights....Was he buried locally, was the body shipped back to Hiram, Ohio?

That's going to keep you up at nights?

We'll have to start calling you Whiskers, cause you worry like a cat.

He should be buried outside of Jack Trice Stadium.

I think it may be in one of the corners of the field, you know like Jimmy Hoffa at the Meadowlands.

Can't say I've heard that one before, I always thought cats don't really give a **** about anything. Although, your original point about that keeping someone up at night is valid.

Well maybe not all night...just thought it was an interesting piece to the puzzle in a pretty remarkable story.

Here's a photo of the funeral. Jack Trice Funeral on Central campus, 09 October, 1923 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Having that many people turn out for a black man's funeral in 1923 speaks volumes about Iowa State.

That is why I am so proud of our university, and the people associated with it. I don't understand how people can go through school there and not understand how special a place ISU is, and how much of a blessing it is to be able to call yourself a Cyclone.
