    Eustachy & Calipari

This article came across my RSS feed... Nice little inside story about coaches and their relationships inside the "fraternity."

I heard Calipari on Rome today. He was pretty funny and seems like a good guy.

The link to the article is on the word "article". You can't tell until you move your pointer over it.

On a side note about Eustachy, I thought this was kind of funny-
I was listening to the morning show the other day on KJR in Seattle, and they were talking about Washington State coach Tony Bennett. The host, Mitch (the jacka$$) Levy was commenting that Bennett is a good-looking young man, and is somewhat of a BMOC due to the WSU mens' recent success. Levy went on to say something to the effect of '...Bennett could really be "living large" on that campus if only he had a little Larry Eustachy in him..." (not a direct quote, but definitely the gist of it).

Just thought that was a little funny. Also, I'm surprised I'd never heard Mitch mention Wayne Morgan the last few years, as Mitch is a HUGE Syracuse homer.

Let me qualify this post by saying "I was and still am an LE fan" He definitely acted inappropriately, but he did bring some success and excitement to the program. But now we have GMAC, and that's even better!

    Re: Eustachy & Calipari

I don't hate Larry, I think that he was good for Iowa State. The problem was that he didn't respect the person in charge of the athletic department. BVD was a marshmallow, and he was ramrodded into a lot of bad decisions (Football in 2003).

The bad part was that BVD took extra glee in firing Larry. That is why Lebo, and McClain didn't want the job (Thank goodness they didn't take it McClain is bad, and Lebo isn't doing much at Auburn). Everyone figured if BVD would hang a coach out to dry, regardless of the reason, then you wouldn't want to work for him.

That being said, I supported Larry being let go, I was disappointed that he had his dignity stripped in doing it.

No doubt. Totally agree. I think the LE incident and subsequent hiring of Wayne Morgan opened a lot of people's eyes to the inept leadership offered by BVD. Thankfully, GG decided not to renew BVD's contract and the rest is history.

    Spot on. I agree.
