    Great article on Greg Oden

He's the kinda guy I'd want on my team, not for his skill or ability, but because he has the attitude EVERY coach is looking for.

That's because he is Bill Russell...literally. I have never seen a 67 year old freshman. Do you think his roommate helps him change his diapers?

By the looks of your avatar, 20Clone, I bet you've been to your fair share of those parties. Nothing like an all you can eat rib buffet!

Don't judge me! My time as an NBA groupie was certainly a dark point in my life. Although, having a chance to "experience" the 1989 Milwaukee Bucks is something I will never forget. That Jack Sikma was a real tomcat.

Re: Great article on Greg Oden

It won't surprise me if Oden stays another year. I think the kid has his head on straight and from everything I read he likes the college expirience. Another reason why I'm glad the NBA has the new age rule because it forces these kids to at least grow up a little before they get their big paydays.

I can't imagine he stays. He is a guaranteed Top 5 pick and who could really blame him. College is great and all, but a chance to make that kind of money cannot be passed up.

Re: Great article on Greg Oden

As long as he stays healthy the money will always be there. Some of life's best expiriences can't be had for any price IMO. If the kid likes college and wants to stay and win a national title and enjoy his time there is nothing wrong with that. Having money is nice but you don't always need a ton of money to enjoy life. The NBA life is not as glamorous as it used to be either I think. When you had MJ, Magic, and Bird everyone watched the NBA. Now days the ratings continue to slip and all you hear about are over-paid underachieving kids that can't even win the gold medal anymore because basketball fundamentals have gone to crap in the US.

Making these kids go to college for at least a year hopefully is a step in the right direction to getting the NBA back to where it used to be. I don't think it will ever be the same though but at least some of these kids are now being taught something and competing against similar competition before making the big jump to the pros and riding the bench for the first few seasons before they make an impact.

Maybe it's just me but I would gladly trade 3 of my 4 years in college for $100 million...

Completely agree. I don't mind the rule that the NBA has imposed, but I think its a joke for anyone to ever tell a kid with millions of dollars...guaranteed...staring him in the face to hold off to experience college. Many of these kids come from nothing and have their family depending on them. Anyone can go back to school, but it would take one turn of the ankle to wipe away a secure life for you and your family.
