    ESPN/ABC Question

So the Big 12's main TV contract is with ABC, which is owned by Disney, which also owns ESPN. That is why we saw football games this fall on ABC that said "You are watching ESPN on ABC" and they had the ESPN logo plastered everywhere on the screen. My question is this: Since ABC and ESPN are owned by the same company, why can't the Big 12 have games on ESPN?

    Re: ESPN/ABC Question

Because FSN/TBS has the cable TV rights to the Big 12, ABC has the over the air rights.

Also, it just wasn't a college football thing, everything on ABC has been rebranded to "ESPN on ABC".

Because ESPN has a contract do to all the big 10 games, and there are not enough time slots for the big 12.

    This is correct
