Agreed and thanks for sharing. Life is fragile and lets not forget, he is only a kid.

I just saw this too... Here is the ESPN coverage:
ACC's Defensive Player of Year, Mark Herzlich of Boston College Eagles, battling cancer - ESPN

Hopefully he can beat it and come back to football...

Happens to a football player, and it makes ESPN.

Happens to a wrestler, and it's not even newsworthy.

Check out this blog -- Adam Frey -- and tell me that doesn't rip your guts out. Survived a car accident, only to be told he had cancer at the age of 22.

    okay.

but that post just makes you sound like a dick. just because he is an all-american football player, you think that its somehow taking a shot at players in other sports? i feel bad for both guys, but this really isnt where you should voice your opinion. this a very unfortunate situation for a guy who was destined to make millions as an NFL star.

Stuff like this happens to kids in other sports, too, but nobody gives a rip because it isn't football or basketball. That's what slays me.

Now who sounds like the dick? Should my level of sympathy be influenced based on the amount of money someone makes (or is projected to make)?
