I'm so sick of the NYY...

I frequent MLB.com a lot because of its thorough coverage of Major League Baseball. It truly is a great site EXCEPT, just like most sports sites, it constantly headlines the Yankees! Almost every day, win or lose, the Yanks are a major headliner (and we're not talking about the A-Rod or new stadium stuff either). They are a sub 500 ballclub and have been so during the course of this season (albeit young season so far). Yet they are always highlighted!

Is there any other subpar team (ok maybe underachieving or underwhelming may be a better description) that gets that much attention on a regular basis?

Sorry, I just have to vent!

Anything to do with the Yankees' failing ballpark, their injuries, their overpayed players, losing, being smoked by Halliday, their girl A-Rod, and any other laughable thing makes my day.

As a Red Sox fan I share your hate of the Yankees, but I'm guessing you dislike Boston for their overexposure as well...

ARod is batting .188. Too much lovin' off season.

Is it true the Yanks added pinstripes to their uniform to keep Baby Ruth from looking so fat?

No. When the Brewers were in the AL East "back in the day," I did not like any of the other East teams ONLY because they were division rivals. But, since the Crew's move to the NL, I have no reason to "hate" any of those East teams - except the Yankees. I know that Boston has received a LOT of publicity - but they have backed it up in recent years!! If you play well and have the "name players" - you are going to get the attention. It may be tiresome to hear about the BOSOX - but I at least understand why. The Yankees?... They keep trying to buy a great team & they have very, very little to show for their investments. They may very well deserve headlines - but those headlines should be scathing critiques of their futility!

I just went to MLB.com and didn't see any Yankee news as major headliners. Just the Damon article on the right under all headlines.

Um what do you consider major headlines then? The scrolling section in the center of the page is used for games in-action during the day.

    1. You don't understand the Yankees overexposure in baseball.

    2. You start a thread about the Yankees.

That makes sense. Well then I suggest The Official Site of The Milwaukee Brewers | brewers.com: Homepage to the OP.

On Directv they have a channel that shows all the games in progress. You use the arrows on your remote to switch between the games. Well the Yankees are always the first one on the screen.

I know, its petty, but they are they Yankees and I have every reason to hate them.

    Good job OP.
I understand what you are saying about "major" headlines. But on that site - those are the major stories. The Damon article is just typical of what many sports sites do - always touting something about the Yankees. If Damon's hot bat was causing the Yanks to surge in the standings then, yes, I think it would be a particularly relevant story. In a week - if the Yanks truly surge up the AL East, I will have little beef with the coverage of Damon's hot bat or other things about the NYY.

The coverage on MLB.com or any other sport site has nothing to do with Brewers vs Yankees coverage. It has ALL to do with the achievements of individuals and teams who are, at this point in the season, consistently outperforming the Yankee team and players.
