I don't know if it was someone here or on CR, but they were saying that Wes was getting serious looks from some big schools. I guess this answers that question. He's just too small to compete in the Big 12. I think he'll do good things at CSU.

I still would have liked to see how he would do healthy after a couple years in the weight room. Hope he does well.

I honestly had high hopes for him in his junior and senior seasons. I wish he would have went through atleast one offseason with the team.

Best of luck. He never belonged at ISU in the first place. He seems like a nice kid and I'm sure he works hard, but he was A SET SHOOTER! Every time I watched him shoot I had to remind myself that it wasn't Heather Ezell. If you're going to be a sharpshooter on the D-1 level, you have to have a quick release, and he certainly didn't. I hope he does good things at CSU, but I couldn't be more happy that he's not in our rotation anymore.

Best of luck to him. Didn't one of his buddies go to CSU?

Little harsh, but true. In order to compete at this level, you must have a roster full of big athletes.

With some weight, he'da belonged. He could've been a very solid role player in the future, and with weight, could've challenged for a shot at starting.

Also, his release is MUCH faster than any of our other guards even though he shoots from his waist. Once they got him shooting from higher, he would've had a very fast release.

I can't decide if your last statement is a dick move or not. I can't really picture myself feeling happy that someone left the program.

    Re: Eikmeier to CSU

Interesting that he transfers to a D1 school. He'll get the one year weight room redshirt that our coaches wanted him to do now. It seems that he was reluctant to take the redshirt at ISU, because if he didn't get playing time after that, he would have lost a year of eligibility if he transferred (unless he went D2 or D3).

In the end, it really comes down to this. Eik wants to be a starter, and doesn't want to be a role player at the college level. And i think it's obvious that at the mid-to-high level BCS school stage, the best he could hope for is to be a role-player 3 point specialist.

After reading a bunch of posts here from his senior year in HS, I had high hopes that he was immediately going to be the answer to our shooting woes.

I'm jealous. Not that CSU gets Eik. I'm jealous that Eik gets to live in Fort Collins. I love that town.
