Too bad his #1 target for next season has already committed to Texas. Would have been nice to get a duo there.

Oh well, I'm excited to see what Jared can do if doesn't get hurt again.

So does this mean the ISU's offense is simple enough for a High School to run?

all we had to do was to let Phil Bates get a first down or two in that second half vs. KU. He could have done it. We would have won and he would have stayed.

The amount of information that college coaches are willing to give out about their offense and schemes has allowed a lot of high school football coaches to run schemes similar to what you see on Friday nights.

Plus, a lot of high school football coaches that are becoming head coaches played college football in the new era of shotgun and spread offenses. They run and teach what they know best. You still have high school coaches that ran wing t or wishbone in college and that is the base offense for their high school program. If the coach never played college football, he is more apt to run what he did in high school.

My guess is that if your high school football coach played college football, he is running schemes similar to what he did in college. It is true for me anyways.

It is not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion for Iowa State to bring this kid in....If my memory is correct, Missouri brought in a QB, and the coaching staff from his high school and installed the offense you see today being run at Missouri. I was at the Missou-ISU game and that same QB running a high school offense, literally picked us apart and they hammered us.

Guess what? He didn't. He's gone. He didn't want to be here, he needs to go somewhere he wants to be. He saw this is Arnaud's team and took the easy way out by transferring. Best of luck to him at Ohio.

And what makes you so sure he would have gotten a first down? He was brutal in the Iowa game a couple weeks before that.

However, his favorite target from last season Keith Blanton committed to us for the class of 2009 and will reunite the duo here.

The coach at my old high school went to one of those coaching clinics at West Virginia when Rick Rod was running the show to learn that offense and won a state title with it this year. I think that kind of thing is pretty common.
