    Iona Gaels 0-19, wow

This is a team that beat us 89-72 last year. They must have been absolutely devastated by graduation. How does a team fall so far one year later? Is this how those conferences usually work? Could you imagine if ISU had that happen now. I like Iona, I really pulled for them last year after the beat us. I was impressed by their tenacity.

They made the tournament last year i believe. must have been senior heavy. That was part of Black Saturday of last year. watched the kansas football game on tv. After beating my head repeatedly against a wall immediately following that game, i thought i'd cheer myself up by going to watch the men's bball team beat up on some small conference school. Whoops. Probably cried myself to sleep that night....

They lost their entire backcourt, and Steve Burtt Jr. was a really good player.

    Re: Iona Gaels 0-19, wow

Not just graduation, but they've had a ton of injuries

I read an article about them on CNNSI I think, I'll go look for it, but basically they lost all three of their upperclassmen to season ending injuries. (or, take our team and lose Taylor, Clark and Hubalek to injury. how many games do we win?)

    Update:
Here's a blurb from the CNNSI articlue:
Iona's struggles come from various areas. Four starters from last year's NCAA tournament team graduated, and the fifth, Gary Springer, tore his ACL this summer. The team's point guard, Kyle Camper, broke his foot in the third game of the season and was lost for the year. Two freshmen, Mike Harris and Alejo Rodriguez, have been battling injuries. St. John's transfer Dexter Gray, became eligible in December for four games and averaged 10 points, but he will sit out the rest of the year to concentrate on academics.

Wow, I remember watching that game last year from up close and thinking that Ruland coached circles around Morgan (which he did). I guess maybe there was some relativity there.

That was the longest 7 hours I have ever spent in a car, what a long trip back from the KU game!!! I also was hoping to cheer myself up watching bball, I think I hit the bars pretty heavy that night .

Keydren Clark, Solliver and Burtt Jr. formed an amazing backcourt, all three would've started for any team in America. I think Burtt, Jr. is on that streetball show and his father's one of the coaches. We all hated our Cyclones losing to them last year, but they were a supremely talented team.
