    2011 recruits

Are we recruiting Wayne Blackshear, Nnana Egwu, Andre Henley, or Sam Thompson to ISU? If so, do we have any shot at them with Illinois doing so well in state now? I know from reports that we are sitting well with Randle and hopefully doing ok with Shaw, but am curious about these four. If you have the information, could you give a brief synopsis of what type of players they are and their abilities? Thanks to whoever can answer some of this.

Shaw is a top 5 recruit in the country. I don't see us getting him

    Re: 2011 recruits

I don't necessarily agree with that. With Coach Robinson on board, a huge improvement in our record next year, and possibly Barnes being on board maybe some things will start to snowball our way that didn't in the past. Karma can be a b&^%*, but we are due for some of the good kind. Also, if Colvin has success here he probably carries some weight with some of those guys if he played with them in the past. Maybe we develop a hell of a Chicago pipeline. I like to stay positive

We have a .01% shot, but hey, it's a shot. In all seriousness, I think Henley will end up being better than Shaw. There's not too many 6'5" guys who can play the 1-4, have an off the charts basketball iq, be a great ballhandler, shooter and defender, but yet Henley does all of those things.

Will Henley end up being a five star like Shaw?

He's got a shot, the only problem is he's not super athletic like Shaw.

All of those things are true but the fact is that he is a top 5 recruit in the country and we have never (unless we get HB) got a top 5 recruit in the country. I am just playing the odds. Yes, Coach Rob is doing a great job though

    He's more like top 20.
For a reference point, chicagohoops.com which sees all these guys on a regular basis, has Shaw, Henley, Randle, and Blackshear in a tie for #1 in the loaded class of 2011.

Thats surprising that Randle made that cut.
