Looks like Hickory Park got the nod for Iowa.

    Re: 50 States, 50 Burgers

I do like me some Hickory Park, although I think I've become desensitized after living here for so many years. Everyone that comes to visit from out of town always wants to go there though.

    Re: 50 States, 50 Burgers

I'd be surprised if the garbage burger is the most popular.

Hickory Park does not have the best burgers in the state. Okoboji Grill has better burgers in Ames, while my most recent really good burger is from Red's Ale House in North Liberty (highly recommended).

I could go for their mushroom and swiss right now.

And Okoboji has nothing on HP.

The only other one Ive been to is the Great Dane in Madison, WI. They have great food. Ill have to try that pretzel brat burger sometime if I go back.

Love the Great Dane. Both locations are good.

Okoboji has solid burgers (not great). I love Hickory Park, but if I wanted a burger I would go to Okoboji. Now if we are talking a patty melt, then HP all the way.

I've been to Winstead's as well (off the Plaza in KC). Good burgers--reminds me of Culvers.

Culvers sends shivers. They are tasty burgers but greasy as hell.

So has anyone from Omaha tried the burger at Twisted Cork Bistro? Might have to give that a try.

I prefer B-Bops over Hickory Park or Okoboji. Simple, but delicious.

Had the pepperoni and mozzarella hickory last night...it was excellent

The thing about Hickory Park I like the most....it's relatively cheap for the amount of food you get.
