    Bulldog Breeders?

    Hey!

My wife and I are looking at getting a puppy and would like to get a bulldog. Does anyone know of any around Iowa/Missouri/Illinois? I found some on the internet but I was curious if anyone around here has any experience with bulldog pups. Thanks!

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

    Re: Bulldog Breeders?

There is a person on my work classified page that is selling English Bulldog/pit bull mix pups. They look like bull dogs and are very cute, but some have grendel coloring like some pit bulls. Not sure if you want a pure breed or not, but they are a lot cheaper, i think they are asking $75. Can send pics tomorrow if interested.

    Re: Bulldog Breeders?

I love my bulldog (tank). He is so energetic, unlike most bulldogs. He's always running around wanting to play. The biggest problems I have with him is he sheds like crazy, and he loves to chew on shoes and anything he can get his mouth around.

I found this site but they were very expensive ($3000+). I liked the pups and they looked good but I am trying to stay around $1500, which seems to be the running rate for non-breeding pure breeds.

True, but so are almost any puppy!

Yeah, sounds like what I want (minus the shoe chewing/shedding). I read that if you get a good breeder you can basically get away from the "bad genes" that a lot of the bulldog breed have. They are good with kids and relatively easy to train. I also read they are good for an apartment (which is where I live now) because they don't need as much exercise as, say, a lab or retriever.

Thanks, again, everyone for the help! I think I am going to try this place (Welcome to Friendship Kennels - Home) as it seems to look as good as any! If I get one (still discussing with the wife whether we want to drop $1500 for a pup, plus vet fees and food ect.) I will be sure to post some pics!

This kennel has olde english bulldogs which are different than the english bulldogs. The olde english are taller and more active than the squatty chunkier english bulldogs. Which type are you looking for? Both are nice dogs.

    Re: Bulldog Breeders?

I know a guy who successfully mated a bulldog and a shitzu.

Bulldogs are cool though. Let me know what you think of it when you get it. I would love to get one. My great Aunt had one and she said it was a great dog.

    Holy crap!

There are a lot of cute farm puppies out there for FREE!

My wife wanted to spend $200 for a dog, but when she got the little mutt in her arms you couldn't pay her enough to give her up.

Just saying ... that seems like a lot of dough.

The only way I would ever pay that much for a dog is if I planned on doing the breeding or for a show dog. His heart is set on a 100% bulldog though and most likely this is the only way he will find one. Im a shelter kinda guy though. I feel bad for abandoned animals.

Bulldogs are not like most puppies... you have to clean the wrinkles everyday. Get pet insurance. The two we have always have problems and need to see the vet.
