I've always liked the Big 12 and the SWC/Big 8 before that. I like TT, I like their helmets and their color scheme and I've always liked the under dog/over looked team. I even like Leach's out spokeness. Now with the pandering out of the way, he often over loads his arse with his ridiculous rants.......................

Crabtree is undoubtedly a stud and I can't see how any WR predeceased him in the draft. But to say he has done "more" than a young coach that has proven to be decent at least, plus one already making millions in the NFL is premature at best.

Furthermore the NFL has most assuredly had a spotty draft record with highly dubbed QB's. But you know what hasn't been spotty .............system QB's with weak arms especially coming out of TT! The NFL has tried a ton of these type QB's much to no avail.

I like how he defends his players but honestly he comes off as boorish and "sour" as much as anything.

He honestly does come off as bitter. Almost like Harrell not getting drafted is a slight on his ability to spot talent. He isn't an NFL QB and most everyone knew it coming out. The post season workouts only confirmed it. At some point in time you’d think these High School QB’s would have to notice the “spread” isn’t a high way to the NFL. You almost wonder if that plays into his anxt. Knowing that, may one day catch up to him or he’ll have to eventually answer that question to a recruit.

All the same, all it really does is make him look like an even better coach and architect of a fantastic college system.

Neither is Tim Tebow, but that won't stop some team from wasting a high pick on him next year. It's all about perception.

Probably true, the only caveat being........................Tebow is a sensational athlete that can run and therefore might, stressing might redefine the position. If nothing else you have some options with Tebow you don’t have with Harrell and worst case scenario Tebow might be able to play WR, TE, FB or even safety. No such luck with Harrell. I’m not even saying Tebow can, but Harrell definitely can’t.

Also past Florida QB’s who were system guys with weak arms also didn’t fare well at least as far as being highly drafted.

I didn't follow the draft last weekend, but I'm also surprised that any team would pick a dead guy over Crabtree.

Good stuff............................you got me chuckling out loud. I'm fond of making up words I think should be main stream.................hence the predecessor/ed. Meaning came before with the past tense…….. ....not working eh?!?!? I completely over looked the "deceased" spelling correction by word.

Re: Mike Leach Shares His Opinion of the Draft

Whatever Leach says....I just think he's looking for publicity, which usually helps recruiting on some level. Thats ok though, I think he's entertaining, he can talk all he wants as far as I'm concerned.
