    Mizzo Most Drafted

Mizzo had more players drafted (6 & Chase D. did not get picked) than any other team in the Big XII. That is amazing to me - more than OU, Texas & TT. Between all the talent Mizzo lost and I think their Off Coordinator left to be a head coach somewhere it will be interesting to see how big the dropoff is at Mizzo.

Not only did they have all those draftees, perhaps their most valuable player wasn't even drafted (Chase Daniel).

Would I be too far off if I say they underachieved significantly?

Also, they had to replace both coordinators after last season.

I think you are right about underachieving. However losing the Def Coordinator might be a good thing.

Maybe if they went out and hired someone, but they just promoted someone that was already on the staff.

Pinkel has a lot of loyalty to his assistants, but that might have been detrimental to his program a few times during his time at Mizzou.

    Re: Mizzo Most Drafted

Mizzou most assuredly has Defensive issues. My Dad told me last season (he now lives in The Lake of the Ozarks and is a mild Tigers fan) that they'd be very good. I told him on Offense yeah, but they still have major Defensive issues. He said they returned like the whole D and I said so what they still stink. It's either coaching or scheme or effort but they are bad pure and simple. They had 3-Defensive guys drafted and the best one might be Witherspoon who stayed.

They will struggle next year………………………It is interesting though I agree that with all the explosive offenses that the Big 12 fielded that Mizzou was the only one with more than 4 draft picks. Heck Texas only had two.

On a side note the SEC had like 47 draft picks, while the Big 10 and Big 12 both had 28 or so. At least that’s what I read on a message board. (Check for verification) I’d like to see the break down O to D for our two conferences. I’d guess the Big 10 had more on D and the Big 12 had more on O.

I did find it ironic that the Big 10 had the 1st two (and only) Corner Backs taken in the 1st round.
