    For the KC/NEKS Cyclones

Harrison Barnes and the All-Iowa Attack will be playing in the Jayhawk Invitational this weekend in Lawrence. The website is here (link), but there's not much there yet. I imagine that they'll get more up (rosters, schedules) this week and up to the weekend. They play games all over the city of Lawrence, and the Friday night game is played at Haskell, on the West side of town, which shouldn't be a bad drive at all for you KC folks. In the past years, they have played at Allen, but I've heard the facility may be off-limits because of renovations going on.

More on the Friday night game --- Barnes's team will be facing the Arizona Magic, with a 2010 KU commit, Royce Woolridge, at 7:00, at Haskell (directions on the tourney website - link for info here). I can imagine that there will be quite a few folks in Crimson and Blue for the Friday night game, and I'm sure the Attack players would love to see some Cardinal and Gold as well. If you're planning on going, you may want to get to the gym a little early.

I'd really like to. I haven't seen Barnes or Woolridge in person yet. But I'm not sure yet. Depends how much work I can get done this week.

I've been to a few of these tournaments in the past. I remember seeing a young Cole Aldrich who I was worried would never amount to anything, after a 4 point outing where he just looked slow and clumsy. Since then, I've realized that true post players might as well spend their summer attending big man camps and doing individual workouts, and staying away from AAU as much as possible. The only time they get the ball is after a rebound. It's a total guards game during AAU.

Update - The All-Iowa Attack will also be playing at 10:20am and 12:40pm Saturday at the Ambler Center. I had to look up what the hell the Ambler Center is, because I had never heard of it, but it turns out that it is the KU Rec Center. There's hardly any seating there, but those games won't be against a KU commit so they won't be as crowded as the Friday night game.
