    New Practice Facilities for Basketball

Can anyone tell me when the new practice facilities will be completed? Sounds like CB is anxious to spend lots of time in the new building working on his game....including the new weight room.

IIRC, the original schedule was for this October.

I thought it was the start of the fall semester. Could get done faster since the builders have no other jobs to do.

It would be nice to have it done in advance of the season starting.

Some people are quick to blame the Athletic Director when "less than fortunate" things happen....with that said, shouldn't Pollard at least get another "at-a-boy" for landing an $8 million dollar practice facility?

I think we have to thank Jensen more to be honest. Pollard's original plan would've been impossible to complete anytime soon...

I think we should give the at-a-boy to Mr. Jacobson. But it was money well spent on Pollards part indeed.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

I think most people here were pretty pleased when the facility was announced. But I get your point. It seems like there's a lot more talk about negative things than positive things. I guess it's the nature of the internets.

For example: Brackins announced he was staying yesterday, and since then there have been only a handful of threads about it totalling maybe a couple hundred posts. If he'd announced he was leaving, there would have been 50 threads totalling 1,000 posts all talking about how McDermott should be fired, Pollard should be run out of town, we should move to Division II, etc.

Re: New Practice Facilities for Basketball

Jensen and Jacobson have always been there. It may have taken 'the right plan' and 'the right guy' for them to give to this project. I'm usually very critical of Pollard but I can honestly give him some credit for getting the ball rolling on the basketball practice facility and other facilities improvements such as the concessions at Jack Trice.

He had a plan. And this current project took both sides (Donors and AD) to complete.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

This isn't how recruits nor our current team think.

This current project isn't what Pollard originally unveiled though. If Jensen didn't donate it, it wouldn't have happened. Pollard was at the right place at the right time. His original plan was too costly and we wouldn't have had a facility for several more years if at all....
