    Favorite Golf Course

We all know the usual ones like Veenker and the such, but what are some of your favorite courses in Iowa.

I dont know if anyone on here has ever played the course in Rolfe, IA but it is a great little course built on an old motorcycle race track from the 20's.

Also Indian Hills in Morning Sun is a great course especially with the new back nine.

The Harvester and it's not close. I haven't played the TCI yet but heard it's just as good or better.

    Re: Favorite Golf Course

Going golfing tomorrow at Homewood in Ames. I have been to 3 courses, Homewood, Twin Anchors course between Colo and Nevada, and a nice small course called Collison's in Marshalltown. Collison's is my favorite becase it's cheap 9 hole is I think 10 bucks and 18 is around 15. The course is 9 holes and it is small with almost every hole a par 3 which is good for a beginner like me.

    Re: Favorite Golf Course

I learned at Collison's too. Nice little par 3.

Grew up playing at Reinbeck and Conrad.

Favorite has to be TCI though. Love playing it in the fall.

Those courses may be cheap but no offense, they are terrible. haha Not really a test of your skills....you should test your skills a little more even tho your a beginner.

Mine are Harvester, Jester Park, and for a cheap one Grandview. I also cant wait for the new Otter course to open!! Its gonna go right there in the to 5!

My favorite is Ellis golf course in Cedar Rapids. Grew up playing that course and has a sentimental value to me.

I haven't been to Twin Anchors in a while. How's that looking? Collisons is 18 holes and they are all par 3. It's a great course to work on your irons and the greens aren't bad. I take my 7yr old out there quite a bit.

Lake Panorama in Panora!!! I'll pay for anybody's gas if they play it and don't like it. They have made a ton of improvements in recent years to a course that was already a 4-star destination.

    Re: Favorite Golf Course

Which one around here is the cheapest? I am by no means a serious golfer, but I like to get out once in a while and wouldnt mind whackin a few on a nice day. We got one back home called the nuke 9 (because it is by a nuclear plant and some of the grass is an odd color) and it is less than 10 bucks to walk I believe. Something like that would be nice.
