    Baseball or Football

Me and a friend were arguing which was better and more popular. I was for football and said that it is more popular today. My friend said that baseball was America's pastime and will always be the best. So which would you guys choose. (I dont know how to do a poll.)

Football may be right but that is the worst example ever for why it is better

Football. It's not even close. Baseball died in 1994 when the players were on strike and canceled the World Series.

George Will has a great analogous commentary between baseball and American government....well, it at least pertained previously.

Hey, I like them both. What is the deal with soccer/futball though? What the hell is that?
The real reason the so-called world supposedly "hates" America, as reported by our mainstream press: sport envy and Lance Armstrong.

I would take baseball, but even baseball fans can see that football has over taken it in popularity.

I don't know, football has the advantage of having fewer games so there is more anticipation and it's easier for people to commit to going to every game. Baseball has had steady increases in attendance at every level from college, independent league, minors and majors. There are far more baseball blogs, books, and news sites... I think part of the reason football is so popular now is ESPN pushing it down everyone's throats... Sooner or later, it will be too much and that will probably come around the time there is a labor stoppage...

    Seriously?

How many more baseball games are played in a season compared to football? 100-something per team to 17 per team? Not a good measuring stick for popularity.
