Huggy Bear already intimidating the officicals !

After watching the game today, it looks like Huggins already has intimidated the officials. He was all over the officials, for the whole game. K-State was hand checking the whole game, but once the Clones did it they called a foul. I will say that I am not sure we could have won this game anyway, as some of our players never did get into the swing of the game.

And Greg doesn't get on the officials throughout the game?

I thought Mac got on the officials several times and I was shocked he did not get T'd up in the second half. I thought that a lot of ticky tack calls were not going our way and some of the obvious ones on K-State they swallowed their whistles on. One time Jiri got a rebound and about got knocked over and not a whistle to be heard. Thought a lot of rough plays like that they got away with.

Yeah Freddy if things go according to Huggy, KSU will soon win a conference championship. You knew the officials would be scared stiff of Huggy and they looked like little mice running from a big Fat Cat!

Unfortunately if this is the future its not looking good for the rest of the big 12 conference!

Yeah, I don't think we're been getting much respect from the officials these last couple Big 12 games. Probably part of it is just we're probably 20-30 lbs smaller at 4 positions than our opponents. It's just laughable though when C-Mac gets called for hand-checking when he and Taylor have been held and bumped by K-State the whole game.

as much as i agree, its stil not an excuse for poor shooting

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

The hand checking was bad, but typical of Huggins' "ain't never gonna graduate" thugs he recruits for his style of play. What really I found irritating was the constant moving and leaning screens they were laying out there. THe shoulder blocks etc. They'd set the screen. Their guy would go by the screen and they'd lean into, stick a knee into, or shoulder block our guy as he chased him around the screen.

[quote=ISUFan22;75003]And Greg doesn't get on the officials throughout the game?

Of course he does, but he does not have the national reputation that Bob Huggins does. The Big 12 wants this guy to be a centerpiece of their basketball resurrection, and if you don't think that message hasn't been passed through the ranks, you are not being realistic. They want to put his face up there with Knight, Self, Barnes, etc. Iowa State is not on that map, so there will be more to overcome in terms of reputation, and building up the esteem that gets you over in terms of conference love.

Yesterday was a horribly officiated game, and the refs were affected by Huggy. That being said, it was our poorest effort since the Iowa game, so it didn't lose the game for us

If the Big XII is trying to make Huggins one of its 'faces' then the conference has bigger problems...
