Ok, maybe it's just me, but...
As I sit here in Colorado watching the K-State game today (and the same with the KU game last week), it kinda struck me how the Cy-Hawk Series logo that is displayed on the scorer's table advertsing board seems to be free advertisement for the U. of Iowa, in Hilton Coliseum of all places. It's on a white background, and the "HAWK" portion of the logo is in black which totally drowns out the red "CY"... so if you don't look closely at it, but just in the periphery, you see "HAWK" flash by alot. I mean why the hell don't they just put a freaking tiger hawk on the video board next time. I realize the whole Cy-Hawk thing is a big promotional tool in Iowa with big corporate sponsorship, but do they have to pimp it on the scorers table ad board so much, which then is shown on regional and/or national tv? No wonder people outside of Iowa confuse ISU and Iowa with their actual nicknames.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.
Hy-Vee pays for that advertisment and the Hy-Vee logo is part of the ad too. I'm sure Hy-Vee pays for so much signage on that and since they sponsor the CyHawk series I'm sure they want to promote that with their brand name attached to it. I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's not like it's a U of I ad. The only part of the logo is the word Hawk and Cy precedes it.
I don't necessarily think it's the Cy-Hawk ad that confuses the media. I think it's the attitude of EIU that they're the only school in the state of Iowa worth talking about and the national media has bought into that attitude.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
