    That's impressive.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Just shows how bad PSU want to be good at wrestling. College Wrestling changed forever yesterday and will never be the same. I'm afraid ISU and Iowa may be on the outside looking in.

That is impressive. Imagine all of that for a program that hasn't been competitive for chamionships. I guess the only thing they were missing was a championship coach. We'll have to see if Cael is that coach.

Like I've been saying all day. Brand new $4 million dedicated wrestling facility.

You can't tell me this didn't have anything to do with Cael's decision.

Does wrestling make money? I would think between coaches salaries, scholarships, travel expenses etc... ticket revenue would never cover the costs.

While I was originally ******, I understand why he left now. Penn State has nearly every wrestling advantage over Iowa State with the exception of tradition. Their facilities are better, their budget is bigger, the recruiting is easier, and according to most reports, he's getting a raise. Our hands were unfortunately tied. Money talks, and we all have our price.

    Re: Penn State Wrestling Facility

    Wrestling loses money.
And to be honest in 20 years I don't know if it will even be a NCAA Sport. There is only like 85 D1 Teams left out there and they are dropping like flies because.........
    A: No Money
B: Have to provide more womens programs
C: A lot of people don't like wrestling.

You can put lipstick on a turd (Penn State Wrestling other than new facilities) but its still a turd.

I personally want Cael and Gene to fail and that is my opinion. That way they might think....man I didn't have it so bad. I do appreciate what he did at ISU though.. That being said it would be hard to turn down a ton of money no matter who you are. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him back someday.

It doesn't matter is Wrestling makes $$$ or not. All you need is (1) Sugar Daddy that is willing to cough up Huge chunks of Cash. Pennsylvania is Big Wrestling State so you have a good base to work with.

If $500k/year is correct, you can not blame Cael for Leaving and you can not blame Pollard for letting him go.

    Re: Penn State Wrestling Facility

Maybe Penn State doesn't win much because of posh stuff like that. It makes them soft. I know when I wrestled in junior high I used to love going down into the dark and dingy wrestling room and sweating like a pig. Made me feel dirty, mean, and nasty.
