How soon does JP need to get someone hired?

Personally, I don't think Cael was a very good coach. However, he could recruit VERY well.

So, with that being said, don't you all think that the sooner JP can get someone hired the better?

If this goes on too long without a replacement being named, then I fear we will lose even more recruits and current guys than we really need to?

My guess is that it will take about two weeks max.

You take as long as it takes to hire a quality coach.

Agreed. Find the right coach and draw up a contract that pays well (I guess second to PSU) and also includes a significant buyout clause. I am tired of being everyone's ***** when it comes to keeping people.

Also need someone with a decent name outside of ISU athletics. I don't think Bono is the right hire. We are a top tier WR program and we need to regain our footing after just being made fools of in front of everybody in the world that knows anything about WR. We look like complete fools right now after our handling of both Gable and now Cael.

We need to do this right to prevent further embarrassment and damage.

If PSU had wanted any other coach in the country (Brands included) do you think the result would have been any different?

I don't consider it an embarrassment, but I do think a lot of wrestling coaches are going to going to get new contracts this summer.

We don't know that. I wouldn't think so but I also wouldn't think Cael would leave ISU for more money.

Tom Ryan will be the next coach

If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find
them - maybe you can hire: The A-Team.

It appears that 2 of the coaches that Jamie hired didnt really like him or being at Iowa St and bailed at the first good opportunity...

Tom Brands is just like Dan Gable...good old brands wont leave iowa for any amount of money....You guys up in ames are just gonna have to live with the revolving door for coaches....

Welcome to Pollard World ...where things never go forward for long .....

A hire will be made within a week IMO.

JP made the right call here. We were already paying Cael more than he was worth IMO.

Re: How soon does JP need to get someone hired?

I think the real question is who is going to be the defensive coordinator and how long will it take to hire him?

I think I am supposed to follow w/ one of these...
