I'm already sick of the NFL

Everybody is talking about the schedules and the projected wins and losses on the radio today. I'm sure I'm in the minority but I can't stand it. They will all be wrong anyway.

You guys are crazy! The NFL is great... Now MLB on the other hand.... good lord, it's horrible! I think women's golf is more exciting.

    To each their own. =)

Braylon Edwards getting traded to the Giants will be huge news, and it's only a matter of time. So be warned....

Re: I'm already sick of the NFL

yeah. football, being the best sport in the world, should be played all day every day. then there would be more to talk about. its BS that baseball is half a year long. lets face it, america is a football country now. the only reason baseball is "americas pastime" is because it is older and was created in entirety here. the fact that its season is too long dilutes the excitement.

Re: I'm already sick of the NFL

I think the NFL is really trying to promote the Schedule release as a big event. I can't remember there ever being as much fanfare over it before. I'm sure they see it as an opportunity to make more ad revenue if they can get people to care enough. Look at the draft. it hasn't been that long ago that the draft was a curiosity at best. Now, it gets huge ratings and generates tons of ad revenue. I'm sure they want to do the same thing with the schedule release. The problem is, with all the parity in the NFL, the schedule really doesn't mean anything. No one really knows how hard/easy a schedule will be until they play it.

I love football. I hate how everything associated with football is overhyped. I don't care about the draft, and I hate the fact that I have to listen to Mel Kiper year round. Schedule release isn't a big news event. It doesn't matter. Until players start reporting for camp, I really don't want to hear about football.

Bingo! I like the NFL but I prefer the games and couldn't care less about everything else. I hate MLB as well and don't get me started on fantasy sports. Especially the smack talking wannabe GMs. Gamble like a real man.

You must be listening to ESPN radio. I think they should rename ESPN to NFL network. Mike and Mike have perma-woodies for the NFL.

I love the games but hate all the hype.

If football is America's game, why does baseball draw 10 times the people? I know 10 times the games, baseball is still important to America.

To each his own, I guess. I don't think that the schedule release is interesting or newsworthy, but I LOVE the draft. I'll watch the whole thing start to finish if I can. I love the strategy seeing what teams need and how they fill them and how they manipulate the draft order. I also love how it is kind of a marriage between CFB and pro FB. You get to see a lot of names that you recognize from CFB.

Actually, the only thing I'd change about the NFL is to put in a rookie salary cap. It's ridiculous that a rookie makes more than 10 year vets. Also, the exhibition season is too long. Other than that, the NFL system works...especially compared to MLB with its small market teams that have no shot.

I can't be paid to listen to Mike & Mike, and Colin is a know-it-all. I'm pretty much done with anything ESPN related other than actual games...I'm old. I will guarantee that I've watched more ESPN in my life than 99.9% of anybody on this board so I deserve a break. I honestly think so many guys on there are unbearable to listen to.

I can only watch baseball in person and I can't grasp a sport where one game is less than 1% of the season.
