    Company Picnics

What are your favorite things about a company picnic. I need ideas. Maybe something your company has done in the past, or something you wish they did (that is realistic).

Not having them, seriously. I hate half the people I work with so why would I want to hang out with them outside of work. Not trying to be mean just honest

    Re: Company Picnics

Our company went to InPlay (one of those gaming establishments) last year. They catered the food, and then you could bring as much money as you wanted to use for yourself or your kids to play games. While it was a little loud, it allowed everyone to split off into groups of friends (which is what everyone kind of wanted to do, anyway).

I like bringing my nuts and putting them on the table next to the chips at our company pot-luck. Eating my nuts is a much healthier alternative to potato chips.

A couple years back we did Adventureland, including dinner at one of the shelter areas in there.

That was pretty cool. Didn't have to hang around everyone all day.

Our normally involve a golf course. Anyone wishing to just chat can sit in the clubhouse, play cards, etc. Others can go out and play.

My dad works at the Hy-vee corporate building in West Des Moines and every summer they have a party. Best party ever. They give away so many prizes my family alone won over $350 in groceries like Gatorade and stuff like that.

Favorite thing? The ability to forget the names of my co-worker's wife and children after working with him for 3 years, then bumping into them both with my wife and the awkwardness that ensues.

Volleyball worked better than softball. Be careful though, I stuffed my supervisor's attempt at a spike and we thought my career had just plateaued. Kids liked a piņata but also enjoyed sack races, egg toss, and other games with prizes to all that make their parents look foolish. Can you reserve a portion of a park with a beach?

More expensive was a boat charter for a four hour cruise on the Detroit River (no kids plus we didn't get stranded on Gilligan's Island). I know some offices offer a day or night at the ball game (Tigers in my case, Iowa Oaks in yours?).

I don't hate the people I work with, but I'm not making that extra effort for company socials, either.

Of course, we usually have them after our shift has worked Saturday morning, so I'm in bed anyway.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

My favorite thing at a company picnic is getting all the milfs together for a wet tshirt contest.
