Re: Pirates Hijack Two Ships Today

This is going to get really big before it get's better. I know my old Samolia friends in the Marines are probably getting nervous about this. Samolia is brutal hard core fighting. These Pirates will play hide and seek with us again. I would rather be in Iraq 100 times then have to go flush out The Samolies.

Soon the shipping industry are going to be armed like crazy. Sounds like a good time for sniper school.

I hear it's against Maritime Law for Private ships to Arm themselves like crazy. To many rules and regs in every country they are required to pass through. It would be a way of spying on other countrys if you could just take a civilian ship. Arm the crap out of it and do drive by spying on other countries.

I wish they had a few 50 cals on each ship. That would be enough to sink there little tug boat things they use to board the ship.

It's going to be like WWII soon; warships escorting convoys of merchant ships across dangerous stretches of ocean.

How many countries follow that law? I know we are good about taking the high road, but there has to be a solution. It would be incredibly expensive if they had to be escorted everwhere by the Navy.

I agree. What they're doing right now obviously doesn't work. I figured that us kicking the **** out of some of the pirates would cause the others to retreat a bit, but apparently that didn't happen.

We can't just keep allowing our shipping companies to continue paying the ransoms because it only encourages their behavior. A couple of large caliber guns would probably suffice. At the very least, armed and trained security forces should be on each ship. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper than paying multi-million dollar ransoms.

Keep a few drone planes in the area, send some warnings to the pirates, if they do not respond to the warnings, drop a present, deny we were ever involved and leave it at that.

Screw it just put a couple of 50 cals on the boats and start shooting screw maritime law. If they are going to break the laws we might as well do the same.

Hope there weren't any Americans on either of the ships...

Guess that's what happens when the United States up and leaves a country without establishing a governing body first and the warlords run the country instead for 15+ years...

I would agree. I think we need to get mid evil on these assclowns. If I was running a ship through there I would have about 10 50 cals. A couple of Dragons. That would make a little boat turn right the hell around.

Re: Pirates Hijack Two Ships Today

Just the amount for 1 ransom would be enough to arm several ships with weapons. I would imagine the UN will need to do something soon to allow ships to defend themselves. And who enforces maritime laws? If a private company puts guns on their boats who will give them the ticket?
