COLUMBIA, Mo. The Iowa State men's golf team shot a 593 (291-302) and finished in fifth place after day one of the Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo. Junior Ben Herrera topped the leaderboard for the Cyclones, posting a 2-under-par score through two rounds. Herrera shot his first sub-70 round since last September while tying his season-low round. He is currently in fourth place and five strokes back from current leaders Kelly Kraft (SMU) and Mitchell Gregson (Kansas State). Kansas State currently holds a six-stroke advantage in the team race.
