    Source: ESPN.com

    Nick Fanuzzi, QB
    San Antonio, TX
    Churchill High School

    Scouts Grade: 78
Position Rank: 20 Nick Fanuzzi still taking visits
Fanuzzi made a trip to East Lansing to check out the Michigan State Spartans and "is hearing from Purdue, Iowa State, and Alabama," according to The News-Press.
The New-Press adds that Fanuzzi "is comfortable with (new Miami-FL coach Randy) Shannon but is keeping his options open."

This could get interesting. If he's the 20th ranked QB in the country, we could have some competition for Arnaud, et al... after Meyer is gone.

I agree that a little competition between quarterbacks will help. I have to think it pushed Meyer his redshirt freshmen year knowing Austin Flynn was chomping at the bit to start again. Getting Fanuzzi would be great for competition especially with another one of the quarterbacks we're recruiting, Joe Chaisson, likely committing soon to Arkansas after the departure of Mitch Mustain.

According to Rivals, he has a soft verbal to Miami-Fl but has started looking around again and ISU is in them mix

I'm glad we have Arnaud and Bates is still a solid verbal, but you really can't have too many good HS quarterbacks. It very good to be deep at QB. Good HS QB's are usually great athletes and if they can't play QB they might work at another position. Case in point, Austin Flynn. He was a team player and was agreeable to being a receiver if it could help the team.

Yeah, not only did he agree to play receiver, he turned out to be a heck of a good one, too. Not too many programs have the luxury of turning a four-star HS QB into a wide out. I would love for our team to be able to have the luxury of "too many good QBs." Definitely won't complain

Good enough where he likely getting pro looks too, as he is working his stuff at Shrine Bowl workouts right now.
