    Facebook Groups - violation?

Deadspin - Your Team Is A Fan Of Being On Probation - Recruiting

Seems like there's not much bite to this at all, but these kinds of groups are pretty much useless.

Much like our government, the NCAA feels that doing something stupid looks a lot better than the appearance of doing nothing.

Facebook stalking angers me as a violation of privacy - but it's even more ridiculous when it jeapordizes a school's future.

Most of these guys have 500 friends. How in the hell is the NCAA going to go through every one of there friends list and break down which kid is a fan of this team and who is a fan of that team. The NCAA loses in this situation. I am friends with a few of our recruits. Not to say stuff to them. But if they post something about ISU I want to hear about it.

    Best comment after the article:

"If a recruit is in a restaurant choking on a bread stick and you perform the heimlich maneuver to save his life, you just might be committing an NCAA violation."

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Shhhh......as long as we don't say ISU and facebook in the same sentence, the NCAA's super black ops key word filtering computer will never know.

    Oh, damn

I believe they're more talking about the groups that people set up and coerce others into joining. I have been invited to no fewer than three "Harrison Barnes to ISU!" or "ISU Wants Harrison Barnes" groups. It's pretty easy to tell to what school these fans' loyalties lie.
