Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Sporting News has ALWAYS had love for the 'clones

Well maybe once you get a decent Oline to block, you get a good RB out of Hicks. Just Maybe?

    Re: FRONTPAGE!!!

I am not sure he will ever be a star running back, but he has always had the skills to be a good third down back or if he can improve his blocking quite a bit, a fullback, I just have never been impressed with his feet, he is a good back though, I think he will get picked up somehow!

Wow! good for Stevie. I didn't think he would be an NFL back, but hopefully he proves me wrong. May end up watching the East-West game now.

I love it!! I'm not a premium member of The Sporting News. Could someone sum up what it said about Hicks?

    Re: FRONTPAGE!!!

If you can average 5 YPC with Iowa State's offensive line, you have some game.

    Re: FRONTPAGE!!!

He would fit in with the Denver Broncos style really well. One cut, hit the hole....no dancing or quick moves, just downhill running.

    Re: FRONTPAGE!!!

from a blogger at the Houston Chronicle:http://blogs.chron.com/longhorns/200...answering.html

Baylor cornerback C.J. Wilson made a great play for an interception during Tuesday's workout. Nevada quarterback Jeff Rowe tired to hit Iowa State wide receiver Austin Flynn on an out route. Wilson got a great break on the ball and dove in front of Flynn for the interception.

For those of you that follow the Big 12, Wilson was one of the league's top cover men the past few years (just don't watch the Texas film from this season) and scouts will definitely like his upbeat personality

    also:

Iowa State running back Stevie Hicks showed some burst with a couple of strong runs.

Trip and fall Stevie? He has been well known for dancing when he should just hit the whole! I think most would have liked to have seen him run more downhill such as Koch did for us against Mizzou.

I do think he could be a reliable backup in the NFL. Good size. Strong upper body. Great blocker.

There haven't been many Cyclones I've had more of a love-hate relationship with than Stevie.

Thought i'd post this before the front page changes.....

    Cyclone makes noise
You might not know much about Stevie Hicks, but SN's War Room does. The former Iowa State running back is one of several players impressing NFL scouts in practices for Saturday's East-West Shrine Game. » Full story

Scouting the Shrine: Mon | Tue | Wed
    2007 Draft: Mock draft | Super 99

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.
