Vote Now For Hilton Magic!
AMES, Iowa – As part of its “Student Spirit Week”, ESPN.com is conducting an on-line poll to determine college basketball’s best student spirit. Iowa State was one of only 22 schools nation-wide included in the poll.
Cyclone fans are encouraged to vote for Hilton Magic by clicking here. Voting is nearing completion and Iowa State is currently ranked 10th nationally in the ratings.
“Hilton Coliseum is the best place to play and watch college basketball,” said head ISU men’s basketball coach Greg McDermott, who noted that the Cyclones recently showcased their vocal student section during a nationally televised game against sixth-ranked Kansas. “Our crowds – students in particular – have made Hilton Magic what it is. I hope that fans take a few minutes to vote and substantiate what we all know ... Hilton Magic and our student support is tops in the country.”
Cyclone Alley is known in the college basketball circles as being one of the loudest, passionate and loyal student sections in the nation. Prior to this season, ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the “Hot Arena” in the Big 12. Coaches in the league noted that "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."
“Anyone who’s a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum,” said ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla, who provided color commentary on the game against the Jayhawks last weekend.
Voting takes only a couple of minutes and is free of charge. Iowa State fans are encouraged to vote and vote often. Sharing the link with friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers is also encouraged.
