I agree. I guess I didn't know that many hawkeye football players live in the metro.

Stamford's unemployment numbers are probably up because their paper office shut down.

What I'm saying is how can a 5% unemployment rate rank worse than 5.6%

Re: Des Moines 3rd most "livable" City

I really like living in Des Moines. It is probably my favorite city I've lived in to date. I can't say I like the Iowa weather the best. CO's weather was incredible. But just looking at the City itself, I really like it. It is a good size. There are things to do. Music, food, events, etc. All that plus the great public schools.

And you can get anywhere within 15 minutes, not sitting on a freeway going 6 mph.

Great local restaurants, bars, music, ICubs, decent malls, casino, outdoorsy parks, thats why I like it.

How long has it been since you've lived in the actual city of Des Moines?

I'm including the Burbs as Des Moines. Most of these reviews do.

A lot more crime happens in Des Moines then you hear on the news or would think goes on. Last year, I took DMACC career advantage classes for criminal justice, and the des moines officers talked to my dmacc career advantage class, said just because its not getting reported on the news all the time, there is a lot of crime thats not reported.

What's sad is that I watch the Office and didn't even get it.
