    Re: Fans on the road

First ones in the lot at Folsom this year against Colorado. We weren't sure if we were in the right lot area because no one was around. The workers showed up about an hour to two after we were there to turn the trash cans right side up, walk around, and to direct traffic. We gave them parking money then too, after we'd been there two hours. We asked where everyone was at and they said that Colorado fans only show if the team is doing well, don't show up if they aren't playing well at all. They gave us props for showing up.

We went into the game and were so excited to see all the Cyclones there and were even more excited about the energy we gave off. When it comes down to it, no matter if we are in the hunt for a title or not, we will still be there and support them, and that's what makes me proud to be an alum that travels.

Same thing at the Houston bowl a few years ago, same story as there is no TCU fans anywhere to out and support the their team. I didn't know where any of their fans were until I got into the stadium and it looked like they were all sitting on their hands.

    Re: Fans on the road

I met a Cyclone fan in CA that now lives in St. Louis. He told me of all the ISU sporting events he has been at. He has visited China, Japan, all the men's NCAA BB appearances, and of course this year in OK, KY and CA. We had a great time in CA with all the other ISU fans. My favorite family was the Wiebens. They are very friendly. They talked to me as if they had known me for ever. I will miss seeing them.

Believe it or not, I actually heard Van Gundy talking about the ISU women during a break in the action during the NBA game this afternoon. Talking about them shooting 3s like crazy.

we do shoot them A LOT, nothing has changed the game of basketball since the 3 point line was installed. I wish our men's bball team would decide to understand the importance of shooting well from downtown.

The Wiebens aren't going anywhere. They told me they will still be at the home games next year.
