Somewhere, Larry E is calling Jim Calhoun

He is telling Jim Calhoun that it sure is tough to play Michigan State on their own back yard in the NCAA tourney!!

Although, I'm happy Mich. St. beat UCONN. Hopefully, North Carolina has those same thoughts late Monday also.

Michigan State makes my ***** itch. Izzo makes me wanna puke. This season alone, he lost at home to Northwestern and Penn State. The committee gave him a break. I hate the Big 10 (11).

ETL, blame it on Kansas, who is back To their choking form, not the committee.

Valid point. I just don't like giving MSU credit, but you're right.

Not really....KU should have never been near as good as they were...Hence BS (I love the initials btw) winning coach of the year...

They have beaten a #3 a #1 and a #1 what is this break you are talking about?

He's talking about the break they get by playing the Elite Eight in Indianapolis and the Final Four in Detroit. It would be like ISU playing the NCAA regional finals in Omaha and the Final Four in Des Moines en route to the national title game.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

This all sounds like sour grapes to me. MSU is where they are in this tourney because they have gotten it done. I don't care where you are playing, they have beaten 2 1's. They've earned the trip to the title game.

With that said, I'm hoping they lose despite that meaning UNC wins yet another title.

Only one fair thing to do then - move the entire tourney to Alaska.

Why don't they wait to see who is in the Final Four. Then decide what city it is going to be in. This way they can eliminate those cities closest to what teams made it there.

Can't do anything about the Final Four. The location has been chosen for a while and MSU just made the Final Four a week ago.

With that said, there is no way that MSU beats UCONN unless they have 60K fans there cheering for them. Talk about the biggest home court advantage in final four history

I just hate MSU, Izzo, and their "back alley brawl" style of play, but in the end you have to give them credit, they take full advantage of any break that comes their way and you have to be ready to fight it out when you play them.

I have to disagree. MSU out hustled Uconn. MSU got the loose balls and were in better position for rebounds.
Uconn stood around on offense half the time. No ball movement. Guys would drive and make a bad shot instead of hitting the open man.

Those things usually happen when you have 60K fans cheering for you and 60K fans cheering against you. That is why home court advantage is always so big

Funny that he makes it to the Final 4 every 3 of 4 years. Look at where these two programs have gone since they played in the tourny. You have to give the guy credit for staying and winning at a place that is hard to win at in and in the shadows of Michigan. Those losses mean nothing at this point. The only thing that matters about the regular season is getting into the tourny, once in anything can happen. Good coaches have there team hit its peak at tourny time.
